Dom Harrison opened the scoring with a well earned try which was converted by Damian Goss. Nant Conwy came back with a converted try and at half time the score was level at 7 point each. In the second half both teams were well matched and we witnessed some very good rugby being played. Tom Rowlands went over the line for an unconverted try and this was answered by an unconverted try by Nant Conwy. Flint started the stronger team and took the lead after 5 minuets when No. 8 Chris Wildman broke from the back of the scrum to touch down (unconverted). Flint went further ahead 10 minuets later when open side flanker Luke Williams finished a good passing move to score, Ellis Roberts added the conversion. Birkenhead Park then scored a converted try just before half time. As the second half started it became apparent that Flints forwards had fallen asleep and some poor play from the backs allowed Birkenhead to score an early unconverted try to draw level. This was quickly followed by another to put them ahead. Flint didn't respond and again some poor tackling allowed Birkenhead to score another try. Flint forwards finally woke up and started to compete, Luke Williams ran in a solo effort to touch down his second (unconverted). Flint kept on attacking and when a Birkenhead Park ruck was turned over Luke Williams picked up the ball to score his hat trick. Birkenhead Park then came back into the game and when Flint gave away a penalty 5 meters from there try line Birkenhead scored a converted try to take the victory.
