Match report for Flint U13's
Flint travelled to Birkenhead looking for there first win of the new year. Flint started the stronger team and took the lead after 5 minuets when No. 8 Chris Wildman broke from the back of the scrum to touch down (unconverted). Flint went further ahead 10 minuets later when open side flanker Luke Williams finished a good passing move to score, Ellis Roberts added the conversion. Birkenhead Park then scored a converted try just before half time.
As the second half started it became apparent that Flints forwards had fallen asleep and some poor play from the backs allowed Birkenhead to score an early unconverted try to draw level. This was quickly followed by another to put them ahead. Flint didn't respond and again some poor tackling allowed Birkenhead to score another try. Flint forwards finally woke up and started to compete, Luke Williams ran in a solo effort to touch down his second (unconverted). Flint kept on attacking and when a Birkenhead Park ruck was turned over Luke Williams picked up the ball to score his hat trick. Birkenhead Park then came back into the game and when Flint gave away a penalty 5 meters from there try line Birkenhead scored a converted try to take the victory.
Final score Birkenhead Park U13's 29 Flint U13's 22

Trailing by 0-15 at half-time at Oswestry Vets, Wrexham Thirds came back strongly with two converted tries after the break, but they couldn't quite catch the home side who clinched the game with a late converted try. Flanker Mark Lloyd and winger Andrew Williams crossed for the visitors' tries, wing Jonathan Davies slotted two conversions and centre Peter Blakemore had an outstanding game in the threequarters.
The form book decreed that the Caernarfon Vs Bala Under 14's game would be a tight affair - and for once the form book was not wrong !
Both teams had strong packs, and it seemed from the outset that the team that could vary it's game, and come up with something different, would be the one that would gain the upper hand.
